Welcome to Your Program Handbook

Welcome to the Renaissance Academy of Martial Arts (RAM). We are honored to have you as part of our community. Since our founding in 2000, RAM has been dedicated to transforming lives through the discipline, respect, and perseverance that martial arts instills in every practitioner.

This handbook is your comprehensive guide to everything you need to know as a member of our academy. It covers our programs, policies, expectations, and the values that define who we are. Please read it thoroughly and refer to it whenever you have questions. Our staff is always available to assist you as well.

Our Philosophy: We believe that being a martial artist is not just about learning to kick and punch — it is about becoming the best that you can be in every way. We strive to develop the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

Section VII

Safety & Health Policies

The safety and well-being of every student is RAM's highest priority. Martial arts training involves physical contact and inherent risk. Our policies are designed to minimize risk while preserving the integrity and effectiveness of training.

Section X

Uniform & Equipment

Wearing the proper uniform and using appropriate equipment is a sign of respect for the art, the instructor, and your fellow students. It also ensures your safety and the safety of those you train with. The following requirements apply to all RAM students.

Section XI

Belt Ranking & Promotions

Belt promotions at RAM represent genuine achievement and are awarded based on demonstrated skill, knowledge, attitude, and commitment. We take our promotion standards seriously because a belt from RAM carries meaning — it represents real ability and real character development.

Black Belt Standard: RAM's black belt represents the qualities of a true martial artist: Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, and Self-Control. Earning a black belt at RAM is a significant achievement that reflects years of dedicated training and personal development.
